KwederKovers is a music recording project by Dean Piccoli based on original recordings by Kenn Kweder.

Original elements of all songs were played by Kenn Kweder and the various musicians that have contributed to his live performance and recording career over the past five decades. Many thanks to all of those wonderful contributors that inspired the A.I. production.

Kenn has fully approved and sanctioned this endeavor. Did we miss something you think deserves an A.I. makeover? Let Kenn know at his next show!

Kenn Kweder
Producer's Notes

Many thanks to Kenn for opening up his catalog to let me have a bit of A.I. fun and hijinks with his rich bounty of music. I really enjoyed the production side because it all started with great source material from Kenn's LP releases and personal recordings along with a mutual interest in the technology. Kweder Kovers was a passion project rather than commercial endeavor, and I'm thankful that Kenn was open to the idea.

This project re-kindled my love of creating new music as I had for many decades in more traditional ways. My abilities as a musician may be behind me, but music is still in my head all the time. Initially, I wasn't aware that Suno could be used as an effective production tool. I discovered I have a knack for transferring the my musical ideas into prompts, and although A.I. does a bunch of heavy lifting, this is not a collection of push-button makeovers. I tried to stay faithful to the original compositions while exploring new sonic directions. Adding my personal spin on genres and styles were drawn from my longtime familiarity and perception of Kenn's songs. Some of my interpretations on Kweder Kovers have been in my head for many years, others shifted direction and found their lane during the production process. A few even benefited from Kenn's direct collaboration and guidance. Hopefully you'll find the melodies, lyrical content, and general swagger are preserved in each new rendition.

Creating these tracks in the current landscape wasn’t simple. A.I. music production now operates under a tightening web of copyright filters and corporate label‑driven restrictions. Getting certain tracks through the system required patience, detours, and more than a few creative workarounds. But maybe that's fitting: Kenn’s music has always lived a little outside the lines, and Kweder Kovers carries that same renegade energy.
